Week 5

Not as many notable performances this weekend, with Jake Weatherald’s debut knock for the first team, the only half century. However, there were many contributions from the two winning games.

The thirds notched their third consecutive victory, all being finished with a six. A great result, given that Alex Gough had lost five regular players, Alex himself made 36. Josh Hartfield was one of several stars for Gough’s men, he took 3 wickets and scored 30 not out. Steve Dixon stepped up to the thirds and made 23 and took 2 wickets.

Jake Hepworth took four wickets and scored 17 for the fourths, in their loss. Owen Smith has settled into his new role as middle order batsmen for the second team with 68 runs over the weekend.

The player of the week goes to a lad who was desperately close to winning the award last weekend, but his rich vein of form continues. On Saturday he made 17 before almost swinging the game back in the seconds favour with 4 for 31 from his 11 overs. On Sunday he made 22 as part of the rebuild from 56 for 5 and took two crucial wickets. This week’s player of the week is a very well deserved William Nicholson!!!! Well done Nicho!!!!!
