WEEK 4

A little later than planned, but before we tackle this weekends games, let’s announce the team of the week for last weekend.

Nathan Swift (Captain)
He’s more or less been an ever present in these teams, 373 runs so far this season. He’s on for a 1000 runs, which when it’s just weekend runs, is some milestone.

Sheryaar Ali
Nathan’s partner in crime has looked assured in the seconds start to the season. He made 41 on Saturday.

Oliver Bennett
We’ll stick Oliver in at three, where he batted Sunday, although he makes the team for his 6 for 9 against Batley.

William Nicholson
Nico helped the firsts out on Saturday but then played a great innings on Sunday at Shaw Lane, making 79, he also chipped in with 3 wickets too.

Owen Smith (W/Keeper)
Owen is different, that’s the best way to describe his cricketing ability. He hits the ball much harder than a 15 year old lad should hit the ball. His glove work is much better than his years would suggest too. His 60 not out on Saturday saw him take bowlers apart, his half century coming up in 33 balls.

George Abernethy
His innings three weeks ago against Div 4 table
toppers Millhouse Works at Woolley saw George regain some confidence and he went on to make 68 not out and take three wickets.

William Chapman
For a period of the run chase at Conisbrough, Barnsley we still in it chasing over 300. While William was at the crease, there was always a chance, his 40 from 31 balls was entertaining.

Beck Frostick
A rare failure with the bat for Beck, but his opening spell against Tickhill was great to watch. Beck is truly a genuine allrounder these days.

Callum Bentley
His first five for of the season was important in the thirds win over Shiregreen, although his 15 not out and helping Owen over the line was just as important.

Oliver Jackson
A return to form will be needed by Oliver, to help the firsts climb up the table. He looked more like the Premier Division leading bowler from 2019 on Saturday with three wickets.

Waqas Tanveer
He continues to be the firsts most economical bowler and is bagging the odd wicket to go with it.
