This Saturday sees the firsts look to make it three in a row with the long trip to Cleethorpes. This will be followed by the next round of the Viking cup against last Saturdays league opponents Whiston at Shaw Lane.
Cleethorpes will present a tough challenge after comprehensively beating us two weeks ago in the first round of the T20 Blast. After bowling, fielding and batting well last week the challenge is now to become consistent in all three areas over a period of games and weeks.
Jake Weatherald continues to settle in and continues to excite and lead from the front and it is good to see improved form from the likes of Oliver Bennett, Jon Trower- who have both scored fifties recently along with Ali Jahangir and Leo Johnson who are starting to be consistent and saw us home in last week's game with a 70 run partnership. Oliver Jackson put together two consecutive performances with a tight spell last week and his performances with Ali Jahangir with the ball will be key in us prolonging this winning run. The bowling unit is looking in better form all round and will need to be on point in what is usually a batter friendly pitch on Saturday.
Sunday brings a different challenge as Beck Frostick will lead his side hopefully through to the next round of the Viking Cup. Having beaten Whiston in the league last week he and the team will be confident of another win. Coloured clothing competitions provide us with the best chance of silverware this year and the team will be going all out to secure a next round fixture versus either York or Appebly Frodingham.
