WEEK 6

Sheryaar Ali

Shaz is having a break out year in the Championship. He’s scored 312 runs with an average of 52, including two centuries. His second came at the weekend and his 126 was a joy to watch.

Freddie Chapman

At just sixteen, Freddie scored his second century for the club on Sunday. He’s currently the clubs leading run scorer in all formats.

Jon Trower

JT will have to bat three in our team of the week, but his 64 on Saturday bolted the innings together and set Wakefield a tough target of 240.

Oliver Bennett

OB came in when Jake Weatherald was out at Shaw Lane on Saturday and the innings didn’t miss a beat. His promotion to bat three in the firsts has been a seamless transition.

Anthony Godley

Anthony has slotted straight in at the club, he paced his innings at Woolley on Saturday extremely well but will have been miffed to not see the game over the line, but he was a massive contributor to their win.

William Nicholson

Nico seems like an ever present in the team of the week, he took 3 wickets on Saturday, 2 Sunday and chipped in with 40 on Sunday at more than a run a ball.

Beck Frostick

Beck’s a cricketer that you can’t keep down, if he’s not scoring the runs, he’s taking the wickets. His five wickets on Saturday, including two of the top order early, helped the firsts to their first league win.

Matthew Clayton

Matthew has had a renaissance with the bat this year and was on top form blasting 80 from just 43 balls as the innings at Green Moor threatened to underwhelm. His glove work remains top notch too.

Jordan Slattery

Jordan is the clubs leading wicket taker but it was his economical spell on Saturday that helped the seconds get off to a good start. 8 overs for 16 runs on a small ground, then four wickets on Sunday added to 34 runs in 14 balls earns his place in the team.

Callum Bentley

Three wickets and 31 not out from 16 balls saw the thirds home.

Oliver Jackson

Returning to form will be crucial for a good run for the first team. Opening the bowling, slow left armer, Oliver, bowled 15 overs for 32 runs and picked up three wickets.
