Team of the Week

FREDDIE CHAPMAN

Having scored 27 on Saturday, his fourth knock where he’s got in, scored quickly and then got out, he needed Sundays performance. His 90 was off 69 balls including some lovely boundaries but again, he’ll feel that not only a hundred but a big big score was there for the taking. He’s looked good this year, but has to start raking up the runs, which we all know he’s capable of.

STEVIE WALTERS

A first ball lbw decision which looked harsh on Saturday, didn’t dampen Stevie’s fine early season form as he made big contributions in both T20 games on Sunday. He carried his bat with 64 from 64 balls in the first game and then made 45 from 48 in the second.

OLIVER HESELTINE

Sunday’s performance made Oliver make the grade. He top scored with 80 in the fours Cup win at Hallam. He held the innings together and led the young side to a commanding score of 181.

ALFIE GOSNEY

Another batter that needed Sunday’s performance was Alfie. His 110 was his first for the second team and will bolster his confidence. It came from 124 balls and included 14 fours and one six.

CHARLIE TAYLOR

Charlie showed his immense promise this weekend. First with the bat at Penistone with 107 not out from 108 balls. He followed it up with two three wicket bursts in the T20 games at Doncaster Town.

OLIVER BENNETT

A massive contribution with bat and ball see’s Oliver included. He made 49 at Penistone and then backed it up with 3 for 63 from 15 overs. His innings included ten boundaries.

ETHAN SHILLITO

Another all rounder included in the team, Ethan made 20 on Saturday and 50 on Sunday. He also took 3 for 30 from his 13 overs at Thorncliffe.

OLLIE CHAPMAN-STOTT

Not one but two unbeaten half centuries over the weekend. His 67 not out on Sunday was from just 32 balls and massively helped the side reach 400. 50 not out on Saturday took the thirds close, just not close enough for the win.

HARRY EGGINTON

His bowling on Sunday stopped a Hallam fight back as he finished with figures of 4 for 7.

FASIH KHAN

The first of the two opening bowlers from Sunday, his 3 for 31 helped take out the top order for Hanging Heaton. He also smashed 22 from 10 balls.

FINLAY PARKER-WAKE

The other half of the opening partnership at Hanging Heaton took 3 for 28, including a great return catch low at his feet going the other way.
