The second eleven were left with another zero point Saturday despite a century from Freddie Chapman, in their 6 wicket loss to Darfield.
Batting first, Chapman and Oliver Bennett put on 50 for the first wicket. Bennett was the first man out for 22, at 86 for 2, the wheels fell off the Barnsley innings as they soon found themselves at 97 for 7. Max Heseltine joined Chapman and they rebuilt the innings with a mature 60 run partnership.
Chapman brought up his century in the 49th over from 127 balls, he was eventually out on his next ball as he tried to clear the ropes. Hesletine finished on 30 not out as they reached 170 for 8.
Finlay Parker-Wake took two early wickets to give Barnsley hope of an unlikely victory, however a very solid 104 partnership from their overseas star Jabari Mills and Naeem Jennings took them to 127 for 3. Ollie Chapman-Stott broke the partnership but Mills remained defiant to finish on 74 not out. Bennett did claim a fourth wicket before Darfield closed out the game with 15 overs to spare.
