The second eleven travel to Norton Woodseats with a new captain taking the reins. The club are hoping that Mark Wilkinson’s vast experience at all levels will help the younger players to develop. Alongside former skipper Andrew Clayton, and brother Matthew, they provide a backbone to lean on.
Lewis Bray will open the batting with Andrew and 18 year old Freddie Egginton will make up the top order. Wilkinson, Shenwari and 15 year old Ollie Chapman-Stott will make up the middle order, with Lewis Wilkinson, Matthew Clayton and Dairen Hirst-Spalding making a long batting line up.
Mansoor Shinwari will offer a strong left arm option and new signing Zain Khan is another seam option. Spin will come from the skipper, Bray and Hirst-Spalding. So there are options at Wilkinson’s disposal.
Their hosts finished seventh last summer and will be hoping to improve that placing this year.
