With a win and a defeat to start the season, the thirds will be looking to get back to winning ways today at home to Sheffield Collegiate. It’s the first game of a double header weekend for the thirds as they play host to Thorncliffe and Wentworth on Monday. They’ll be looking to bounce back from defeat at Wombwell last time out to pick up much needed points over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Alex Gough will be boosted by the consistency of his side and is confident this will bring positive results.
Today’s opponents Sheffield Collegiate have only featured once this season so far, an away defeat to Coal Aston. After posting 127-9 in their 46 overs. Coal Aston knocked off for the loss of just 2 wickets after 30 overs.
Last time out it was the batting department that let the side down, being bowled out for 102 at Wombwell. They’ll be hoping that Ethan Shillito can replicate his Sunday team form and Callum Bentley can have a repeat of his half century last time out at Woolley to post a more competitive total. With that said, the thirds have more than enough capable of producing with the bat and Alex Gough will be looking for his young side to apply themselves on the field today in all disciplines.
