Barnsley got their season off to a fantastic start last weekend with a comprehensive victory at home to Barnby Dunn. Although you would believe that this week’s opponent Wombwell will be a much sterner test.

Barnsley were the only team last Saturday to bat first and win the game in Division Four. Wombwell had a four wicket victory away at Stockbridge, with former Barnsley player Thomas Goldsby-West seeing them home making an unbeaten 59.

Ben Bentley comes back into the side after being unavailable last weekend and will strengthen the bowling. Alex Gough’s team had many heroes from week one and he’ll be hoping for much of the same on their short visit this week.
