The Under 13s continued their unbeaten start in fine fashion by knocking Cawthorne’s 96 off in under twelve overs.
Cawthorne made 98 for 8 from their allotted overs, with wickets for Archie Chapman-Stott, Mohammad Yolda, George Burke and Matthew Pickard. Plus a brace for Reuben Haupt. The fielding could have been sharper and probably cost the side twenty runs.
Without both regular openers Rohan Vermula and Alfie Worth, the home side didn’t miss a beat as Archie and Charlie Worth both retired on 32, both at more than a run a ball.
The first wicket didn’t fall until Barnsley only needed 17 to win, a run out. Kelly for Cawthorne then bagged two wickets but it was all over after 11.2 overs, reaching their target and winning by seven wickets.
